Short Vacation in Jakarta

Even though we had been in Jakarta for 5 days, I felt good to see my hometown, my family and my friends again in Jakarta. Well, let me tell you a story cut into short what we got during the trip.

Day 1
- having lunch and giving away the gifts at my parents' house
- back to hotel to see a friend of mine, Ade, who came by to visit me
- having dinner with Ade & her boyfriend at Thailand restaurant (Kupa, PI)

Day 2
- having Batak blessings tradition
- taking family pictures at photo studio
- having dinner at parents'

Day 3
- taking care my bank accounts problems at the bank
- having dinner at Chinese restaurant (rumah makan Angke) with Lucia (my friend), and
Annette & Boas (my cousins)

Day 4
- continuing the bank accounts problems (including closing my dollar account)
- taking care my insurance at Prudential office
- having haircut at Willy Salon
- getting around with my friend, Yudhi, her kids (Thania & Bimo), and my cousins (Annette & Boas)
- having Bakmi Jawa (a kind of Indonesian noddles) for our lunch with my cousins, Yudhi and family at the hotel where we stayed in
- dinner with my friend, Rossana, at India restaurant (Hazara)

Day 5
- enjoying the spa at the hotel
- buying some gifts at the stores and grocery in the mall
- having lunch at Plaza Senayan
- packing my stuffs which had been left over at my parents
- hanging out with my ex. university close friends and having dinner together
- packing all night long

Day 6
- leaving the hotel to the airport
- saying goodbye to my family
- flying over to Singapore where we had one day stopover in purpose

Day 7
- enjoying some spots in Singapore
- having Singaporean foods for our lunch
- doing a little shopping
- leaving the hotel to Changi airport
- flying back home

Day 8
- having a transit at JFK, New York
- taking a connecting flight to DC with Delta airlines which then was canceled for 2 days in a row because of snow storm
- getting a rental car to get home
- staying overnight at Comfort Inn hotel in Brooklyn, NYC because the main highway (I95) had been closed for a while to get away from accidents which happened to several cars already

Day 9
- continuing to drive away the rental car we took from JFK airport to get home
- "home sweet home" is the only word we said soon we saw the house
- returning the rental car to Dulles airport (15 minutes from our house)
