Reality... Reality... (American Idol Review - Top12 week 1)
Thursday, March 17, 2005
It was not surprising me at all when Ryan Seacrest announced the bottom 3 last night. The three females (Lindsey, Mikalah and Jessica) didn't step up to better performance for 2 weeks in a row. No wonder why Simon gave such a rude comment on their performing. However, I had predicted Nikko instead of Jessica being in the bottom 3 because he is really not good enough for this show. The eliminating result based on America's votes this week is Lindsey. I like her personality when she was asked to singing again for the last time before leaving the competition. She showed a lot of class in giving an effort to go over to the judges and shake their hands during her song. What a positive attitude! I think she obviously knew she was going home that night. She might think she is not capable enough to move on to the next level competing with the rest 11 contestants. Anyway, some people including the judges had predicted her soon to get eliminating since 2 weeks ago.
As mentioned last night, Nikko has joined back the top 12 to replace Mario who is suddenly quit from the competition for personal reason. I read news from internet that the reason is sort of business matter because he failed to meeting the contract standards. Oh well, he might be quit voluntarily.. who knows??

byee.. Mario!
The best performances this week in my opinion were Bo, Nadia and Constantine meanwhile everyone else was either okay or terrible. I love Nadia Turner performed with the song "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" which I would say she did it pretty well (it is my favorite song though!). Wow..Bo Bice performance was surprising me too. He jumped off the stage singing like the professional one. It's unbelievable when Simon gave him thumbs up saying, "You did it like you have done it professionally for more than 20 years".
On the other hand Carrie's performance was not well done, although she has a lot of potential. I would say her voice is better than all the other girls or you can say the third top female after Nadia and Vonzell.
Okay let's go to my ranks now (based on this week performance) :
1. Nadia Turner, 28, Miami. A bartender and waitress and member of the Tool Box, a rock-soul Christian band.
2. Bo Bice, 29, Helena, Ala. Has performed live and recorded with Johnny Neel (news) of the Allman Brothers.
3. Constantine Maroulis, 29, New York City. A graduate of the Boston Conservatory, he has a hard rock band called Pray for the Soul of Betty.
4. Anwar F. Robinson, 25, Elizabeth, N.J. Teaches at a New Jersey middle school and is a member of a group called The Perfect Combination.
5. Vonzell Solomon, 20, Fort Myers, Fla. Attended a high school for the arts and has a martial arts black belt.
6. Scott Savol, 28, Shaker Heights, Ohio. Father of a 4-year-old, he plays the trumpet and performs at city and church functions.
7. Carrie Underwood, 22, Checotah, Okla. A college senior, she plays guitar and piano and rescues stray animals.
8. Anthony Fedorov, 19, Trevose, Pa. The Ukrainian-born Fedorov is a college student who sings on weekends in New York City.
9. Jessica Sierra, 19, Tampa, Fla. Works as a nanny and has performed at talent shows, corporate events and in church.
10. Nikko Smith, 22, Town & Country, MO. Joined the singing group Team 11, which performed cover tunes at promotional events and performed at several St. Louis jazz and blues clubs.
11. Mikalah Gordon, 17, Las Vegas. A high school junior who performed at the White House with the Helen Joy Young Entertainers.
