Never Ever Give Up

Monday, February 28, 2005

The snow we got last Thursday is not totally melted yet, here comes another snow fall today which is much heavier than ever along this 2 months. Of course there is no relation between snow fall and the topic I'd like to talk about here.

A couple days ago I baked some breads which turned out pretty good as you see in the picture below. Don't they look yummie??

Fresh Baked Breads Posted by Hello

Well, this is not my first try in cooking the bread. I think it's been three times I did it.. Oops sorry, ..four times exactly! Yeaah.. first try came out pretty bad. The loaf I cooked for the first time was very hard to bite just like a rock but it's good to beat wild animals though! hihihi...

When I was trying to figure out why I got failed in baking the bread, I found an article in one recipe book, "Betty Crocker's Cookbook", about the mistakes I had done. Actually the root of the problem was simple and easy to identify. The way I put the water too hot over the yeast was a big mistake in bread baking rule because it will cause the dough won't rise high enough to double size and it would turn out like a stone. Anyway, I've learned a lesson from the mistake and put into my smart cooking book which I call as a rule of thumb in cooking.

The spirit of my story is Never Ever Give Up in doing something you have ever failed.

George Bernard Shaw:
A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable but more useful than a life spent in doing nothing.

Havelock Ellis:
It is on our failures that we base a new and different and better success.

Robert F. Kennedy:
Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.

Thomas Alva Edison:
Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
