Review: The Apprentice - Trump

Episode 5
For their next task, the teams would be working with Sony Pictures to build a prototype parade float for the upcoming movie "Zathura." Each team would have a chance to meet with the movie's director, Jon Favreau, and Geoffrey Ammer, President of Worldwide Marketing for Sony Pictures, to get some guidance on the task. Those two would also be selecting the winner. (NBC.com)

Excel team designed the float with many features taken from the house in the film slid on a track past various set pieces of the film and accompanied by a soundtrack that repeated the name, "Zathura." Meanwhile, Capital Edge had similar design but less science-look. It's pretty clear the Excel's float had impressed the Sony executives much better than the women team's float which was presented bad enough by Jennifer M., the PM, as she mispronounced the title "Zathura" again and again… and then again.

Excel, men team

Capital Edge, women team

In the end of the show, Trump decided himself to fire Kristi because she has negative affect on her team and her inability to work with others. Surprisingly, Trump didn't take the advices given by his right-hand judges, Carolyn & George, to send home Jennifer M.-the PM as she was clearly responsible to the loss. I was not surprised at what he has decided. Either one would be fired is fine with me because Jennifer M. look too weak as a PM and Kristi is kind of bossy and whining person. After all, bad attitudes will never stay longer in any teamwork.

Episode 4

For the next task, the teams would be working with costume designers to create a new character and promotional campaign for the Blizzard brand of Dairy Queen. Michael and Aric from DQ would decide the winner. (NBC.com)

Excel quickly arrived at a female character called "Ginny the Blizzard Genie" that they believed would have universal appeal, while Capital Edge brought the end result with a character called "Zip". Toral from women team refused to wear the Zip outfit that it would embarrass her family. She did making fun at Kristi saying "Kristi just looked like a fool.. " instead of giving her support. She should have thanked to Kristi that she took place her position to wear that funny suit and had saved her from embarrassing her family. Her wacky attitude its so unbelievable!

Once the Excel opened the door and Ginny the Genie appeared with a full costume of a genie from Alaska or Antarctica and lots of Dairy Queen bling bling all over the suit, the executives from DQ gave lots of applause and smiles as well as I did. Again, the winner was a clear choice.

Defending herself, Toral said that Capital Edge was very poor at thinking strategically and that she tried to get the group to put more effort into that. She made a different excuse of the costume issue by saying that she couldn't wear it for cultural and professional reasons. She got backfired when Trump reminded her that he once wore a chicken suit on Saturday Night Live. Funny thing, Toral then changed her tune by saying that the reason was actually religious. See, she was not consistent in what she has said. She has made up three different excuses against the costume issue. Everyone looked shaking their head unacceptable what Toral had mentioned and Rebecca, her best friend in the team, put her into a dead lock when she said she would fire Toral if she were in Trump shoes. Trump undoubtedly took her advice firing Toral right away without giving any chance to bring 3 nominees back to boardroom. Another bad attitude has to go!
