American Idol 4, week 3 after Top 12

"Welcome to the show that none of us were expecting." That's how host Ryan Seacrest opened Wednesday's American Idol with no voting results yet on the hand. Oh well, human error as he said sometimes happens not only in a real world but also in a broadcasting television.

American Idol" displayed incorrect phone numbers for three singers after Tuesday night's edition of the Fox show aired. Fox has announced that the network will air a new performance show Wednesday night (9 p.m. ET) and re-open the voting, with the results show moved to Thursday.

Yeah, the results of re-voting was just announced last night. The bottom 3 turned out exactly as what I had predicted before. They were Mikalah (no doubt), Anthony and Nadia. I'm glad Mikalah finally leaving the competition since she didn't make an improved performance for 3 weeks in a row. Also, I don't like her personality particularly when she was speaking out. It's so annoying to hear her whiny, nasal voice. She sounds sort of similar to Fran Fine in "The Nanny" comedy show. Although they sound look-alike, I do love watching this comedy show aired every day in Life Time TV. I don't get bothered to hear Fran "Nanny" which to me it's pretty funny to listen for instead of Mikalah's annoying sound.

Fran "The Nanny"

I give thumbs up to Constantine, Carrie, Jessica and Vonzell for stunning performances they did this week. They all sounded and looked great. "Carrie, not only will you win this competition, I think you will sell more records than any other American Idol", Simon gave a compliment to Carrie. Wow ..that's cool! Bo and Nadia, however, didn't perform outstanding job as they did in last week's show. I think they didn't pick the right songs to show their real personality. Anyway, they are safe to next level.

As usual, I rank the remaining 10 contestants based on this week's performance:

1. Vonzell Solomon, 20, Fort Myers, Fla.
2. Constantine Maroulis, 29, New York City.
3. Carrie Underwood, 22, Checotah, Okla.
4. Jessica Sierra, 19, Tampa, Fla.
5. Anwar F. Robinson, 25, Elizabeth, N.J.
6. Nikko Smith, 22, Town & Country, MO
7. Scott Savol, 28, Shaker Heights, Ohio
8. Bo Bice, 29, Helena, Ala.
9. Nadia Turner, 28, Miami.
10. Anthony Fedorov, 19, Trevose, Pa.

The Apprentice 3, Episode 9

This week's task features the fastest growing retailer in the U.S., Home Depot. "I love to build things for a living," says Trump. "So for your next task, you are going to work for a company that makes lots of money from folks like me, builders...Home Depot." Trump sends the remaining nine candidates, grouped into Magna and Net Worth, to Home Depot where they create and operate a do-it-yourself clinic. Their clinics would be judged by Jose and Christine, two executives from Home Depot, based on three criteria:
* product involvement,
* customer involvement and
* originality.

The winners would be rewarded while the losers would take another trip to the boardroom where someone would be fired. As always, George and Carolyn would be along to observe.

Finally, with both clinics over, everyone met to learn who had won the task. Jose criticized Net Worth for not involving the customer enough. He said that the team missed the do-it-yourself aspect of the clinic. On the other hand, Christine showered Magna with praise. She said that she had never seen a clinic that involved parents along with children. Plus, she said, the clinic inspired customers to buy products. The clear winner was Magna! For its reward, Magna, whose members were walking on air, would literally walk on air. They would board a 727 and experience weightlessness during a special flight offered by a company called Zero-G. Net Worth would stay planted firmly on the ground and return to the boardroom where someone would be fired.

Angie as a Project Manager brought Erin and Chris into the boardroom, because this two people according to her performed the worst. After watching their debates in boardroom, I think all three of them had the reasons to be fired. But then Trump pointed out Erin, "You are a wise guy. You know what? Erin, you're fired.". I would have never guessed Erin would be fired. I thought Angie might have got fired because she was responsible for contributing the loss. This time Trump changed the way he fired people. He would rather cut off the person who doesn't have an appropriate attitude than the person who would be the in-charge to leading the teamwork. Erin deserved to get fired for being too childish and too reliant on her flirting getting her through each task, for example, when she made the stupid comment at the end of the show.

Trump reiterated that he was not thrilled with keeping Angie around, but he said that he had to listen to his advisors (George & Carolyn). With a wink, Erin chimed in with, "Do you have to?" Carolyn called that "a dumb statement".
She could have been saved if she had kept her mouth shout. She obviously didn't know when to joke around and who she talked to. "Don't try to wake up the lion from his sleep!" is the Indonesian wise words she should have learnt about.

Erin Elmore -- Attorney (Philadelphia)
