When Leaves Start a Colorful Change

Thursday, September 08, 2005

The weather starts to cool up this week to signal Summer is over and to greet the coming Autumn. Yes, I could smell autumn in the air now, get cooler weather in the morning, and enjoy the very comfortable afternoons without dying to sweat any more. Praise the Lord! I am looking forward to see the magnificent and spectacular foliage covers the hills as various leaves encounter a colorful change.

I was just thinking about to move our summer outfit into a closet and take out sweaters and winter clothes and put them back into a dresser, I became aware that we are going to celebrate Christmas in 3 months away. I can't believe it! Seems we were just busy to find and pack Christmas gifts 3 months ago and now we have to do the same thing next couple of months. I love it though!

Time goes by so fast and things have happened to the world and to my life in particular. Those things enrich my life with valuable lessons and build myself more tough, strong and mature. Thought of today: "We can't see ourselves or others accurately. Lives are far too complicated, and we are far too biased whether for or against ourselves. Accept yourself just actually who you are in what matters and in the eyes of God who created us".

Thoughts on Autumn Beauty
By Meredith Cowart

Dear Father, as I see the shades
of red and golden hue,
I wonder when Thou first did make
such colors for this world.
Hast Thou loved them
from Thy mortal youth,
Their beauty reaching to Thy heart
as oft it does to mine?
Hast Thou preserved each color
in Thy omniscient mind,
To create someday a work of art
for a child such as I?
And now today I warm myself
In Thy creation's glory.
I ponder on this beauty
And on Thy love for me.
I wonder, "Were the colors
That grace this autumn day
Conceived for just our present world
Or were they saved away
From a day long past,
Eternities gone by,
When Thou were touched
by Autumn beauty,
The same as I?
