Around the Corner of My Garden (Part II)

Tuesday, August 16, 2005

Dropped about 20 degrees from yesterday, seems the weather a lot more tolerable out there and let my mind a bit excited to keep writing.

Guess what? This is the best part I like to talk about.

The story began when my in-laws handed me some tomato plants and loaded them to our truck minutes before we're leaving their residence in NC. Yes, last year we took vacation for a few days to visit them and to pick up the truck they just give away for our good. That day was my first time driving such a big car which I never gave a try in my life to drive any of them but sedan. Even though the car somehow looks bigger to my petite size and took me times at the beginning to adjust myself to the steering wheel, the seat and other equipment inside the car, now the truck is my favorite vehicle to go around and around. Ooops..quit talking about the truck! Ain't I supposed to tell about the story of my garden?

Ok, back to my topic..
The tomato plants grew up real well and yielded plenty of tomatoes back then. They still stood up even in the fall season when the temperature was getting chilly. Unfortunately, the quality of fruits they yielded in autumn were not as good as they had in summer. Soon I found I could not use them up, I just threw them away, some in the ground and some in a flower pot. It's so amazing to find out that now they came out unexpectedly to provide us with a lot of tomatoes more than ever. Well, the logical thinking says they won't ever survive from the frost but the fact is "we got them back". Isn't that wonderful?
