Getting Through A Scary Day

Friday, June 24, 2005

It's said "wisdom teeth" remarks the person becomes mature and wiser because they usually appear during a person's late teens or early twenties...

It's said "wisdom teeth" could be called as "love teeth" because they come out when you are supposed to start falling in love...

It's said "wisdom teeth" notice people to leave the childhood life and get ready for the adulthood life..

But.. why.. why wisdom teeth cause more problems than any other teeth in the mouth? Why do they have to be removed?

Isn't that odd God creates wisdom teeth to complete eventually a total of 32 adult teeth, which replace "baby" teeth as they are lost, but then they should be taken off?

Yeah..last Monday I got all my wisdom teeth removed plus one bad tooth next to the upper left wisdom tooth!!! Ouch..does it hurt? Hhhmm it's hard to describe how I was getting through the surgery because I did not remember most of the time during that horrible day. I was not aware of what was happening during surgery, and when I was awaken at the end I found the surgery had been finished. One thing for sure I remember is they gave me anesthesia to "put me to sleep" (sedated) for the surgery.

"They say being anesthetized is as close as you can come to the experience of death without actually dying."
-- Dr. Thomas Langan, DDS --
Yup, it is true! I got the experience for the first time now.

After having this oral surgery, I fell asleep for the whole day and I was just lying in bed a few days later. Doctor said I had been unaware longer than normal patients because of overdosed anesthesia. Yeah he gave me an average dose for American typical body while mine is petite.

Side effects I felt thereon include headaches, vision problems, imbalance, shivering, muscle pain, dizziness, drowsiness, vomiting, mood changes, and sorethroat. My face was swollen like getting bee stink for a few days which then turned out much better after applying ice packs over my face.

Now I am only having soups, milk and ice cream to eat for days until... I don't know for how long it's gonna be?? Anyhow, I hope I could get speedy recovery to get my life back to normal again.

Ps. Thanks to my hubby for taking a good care of me!
